Danielle has practiced in criminal, regulatory, administrative and disciplinary law since 2004.
Danielle specialises in jury trials, complex regulatory civil and criminal proceedings for Government clients, disciplinary proceedings and administrative law.
Danielle has been retained by the following Government clients: the NSW Attorney General, Minister for Mental Health, Commissioner of Police, Health Care Complaints Commission, NSW Police, Commissioner for Corrective Services, Office of Fair Trading, National Disability Insurance Agency, ASIC, ODPP, Legal Aid and CDPP. She has also been briefed by a range of private clients.
Prior to her coming to the bar in Australia, in New Zealand, Danielle (nee Hauer) was a Crown prosecutor: appearing as Counsel in jury trials and complex regulatory civil and criminal proceedings. Some noteworthy matters include a highly publicised murder trial, a murder sentence, a manslaughter trial and seeking the first disciplinary life ban for real estate agents involved in mortgage fraud. Danielle was involved at a senior level in the prosecution of all financial institutions in New Zealand for misleading and deceptive conduct (in relation to the charging of currency conversion fees on credit card purchases in foreign currencies). Danielle also managed the related civil proceedings seeking compensation for all affected consumers.
As a solicitor, Danielle worked for Fair Trading, the ODPP (NSW), and Freehills (as it then was).
