Rajiv is an experienced advocate and appears in all types of criminal matters.
Before coming to the Bar, Rajiv practiced as a Solicitor Advocate at a leading criminal defence firm. He has acted for accused persons charged with serious offences ranging from murder, drug trafficking and sexual assaults to complex fraud and money laundering. He has also acted for individuals and companies facing asset forfeiture proceedings. Further, Rajiv also has extensive experience appearing in extradition proceedings.
Rajiv has appeared in appeals before the Supreme Court, sentences and appeals in the District Court as well as lengthy and complex committal hearings in the Local Court. He has instructed senior and junior counsel in trials in the District Court and Supreme Court, and appeals in the Court of Criminal Appeal, Court of Appeal and High Court. He has also appeared at the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC), NSW Crime Commission and Coronial Inquests.
